Meditative outdoor experiences

The Natural Space to Be combines nature & active outdoor experiences with spirit-full wellbeing life practices.  

There is a love of both movement and stillness. Our experiences weave active engagement and spirit-joy contemplation together. Nature is at the heart of all offerings - the Natural world itself, and our own inner nature.

Inspiration is drawn from a diversity of practices. Outdoor Journeying as a spirit-full practice is at the core of our experiences, whether you be hiking, walking yatra, chi running or canoeing. Nature guides us on each process, connecting  us with spirit of place and cultivating connection with country.

Contemplative practices draw on a wide range of processes,  teachings and perspectives. We generally have seated, movement, dynamic meditative practices. The sessions are accessible and interactive. Our seated meditation soaks up the stillness of nature and self, and brings practices of breath-connection, mindfulness, heart-led enquiry, somatic (body) led enquiry to our meditation practices.  Walking meditation and yatra are important aspect of each session. Dynamic and yoga inspired body movement meditation practices connect our full selves to the meditative experience.

A long history (20 years) of facilitating groups and experiences in outdoor environments gives depth to the programming and journey possibilities. Daily personal home practices in yoga, meditation and nature have been a mainstay to exploring and deepening the important relationship and possibilities of this special combination.

Weekly nature inspired meditation, seasonal journeys, and special collaborations are all part of the  practices and offerings of The Natural Space to Be.

About The Natural Space to Be

The Natural Space to Be is a heart-business endeavour of Kate Gilson. Kate is at home in nature, and increasingly at home in herself. She shares a passion and joy for immersing in nature - inner nature and the natural environment. With qualifications in Outdoor Education and Social Sciences (Family Therapy) and a long term (18 years or so) home yoga, bush-spirit and meditation practice the possibilities for this space are exciting.
